Who are we?
Qui sommes nous?
The « Philharmonistes des Pays de Vaucluse » are a wind ensemble OR concert band made up of professional and non-professional music lover.
Les « Philharmonistes des Pays de Vaucluse sont un orchestre d’harmonie composé de musiciens amateurs et professionnels désirant partager une passion commune : la musique.
Performing with the « Philharmonistes des Pays de Vaucluse » includes working with local schools to develop musical culture even the youngest of children, working with local composers, and with other associations in order to spread culture in our area and beyond.
Jouer avec « Les Philharmonistes » c’est participer au développement culturel de notre région en travaillant avec différentes associations et compositeurs locaux, ainsi qu’en s’engageant auprès des scolaires.
Our band rehearses every Saturday morning in the city of Sorgues located in the South of France, near Avignon and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Notre orchestre répète tous les samedis matin au pôle culturel Camille Claudel de Sorgues (84).
We like playing and promoting an eclectic range of music, for example :
- French music such as the famous Bizet or Ravel,
- Movie themes such as Charlie Chaplin soundtracks, Princess Mononoke and more.
We play music composed by artists from all around the world : American, Israeli, Japanese, Irish, Australian or Canadian composers. Some pieces that we play were given to our band during our previous musical travels. We are very proud to play music from foreign wind ensembles and to have shared our French culture with them for a while.
Notre répertoire est composé de pièces classiques comme des oeuvres de Bizet ou Ravel, mais aussi plus modernes et issues du répertoire du Jazz. Nous jouons également des pièces contemporaines riches et éclectiques provenant du répertoire Américain, Israélien, Japonais ou encore Canadiens. Plusieurs oeuvres nous ont été offerte par les orchestres nous ayant reçus lors de nos précédant voyages musicaux. Nous sommes très fiers de promouvoir ce répertoire inspiré de nos nombreux échanges.
Our next trip will lead us to Florida. We are very excited about this new adventure, and we can’t wait to share our culture and our music. We are going to perform 4 concerts. Three with two different local bands and one on our own.
Notre prochain voyage va nous conduire en Floride. Nous sommes très impatients de vivre cette nouvelle aventure et de partager notre culture musicale et notre travail. Nous jouerons 4 concerts sur place dont trois avec des orchestres locaux.
During each joint concert, there will be three different sections: one part played by each band on its own, and a grand finale with the two bands playing together.

During the tour we will travel between Miami and Orlando with several stops along the way, including Bradenton, Jacksonville, Saint Augustine and the Everglades.
With the concert with hosting bands and Pembrocke Pines, it’s a huge opportunity for us to play and promote French music, as well as our work from the past two years.
It’s a long road and a very rich trip that we’ve organized for all the members of our ensemble.
Entre Miami et Orlando, « Les Philharmonistes des Pays du Vaucluse » vont parcourir de nombreux kilomètres à travers la Floride avec des arrêts d’ors et déjà programmés comme Bradenton, Jacksonville, Saint Augustine et les Everglades. C’est pour nous une immense opportunité de découvrir une nouvelle culture, de partager notre passion et de nous produire sur de nouvelles scènes.

- The 28th of October at Bradenton Manatee High School at 07:30 pm with Manatee Concert Band – Le 28 octobre à 19h30 avec le Manatee Concert Band à Bradenton Manatee High School.
- The 30th of October at Century Village Pembroke Pines at 07:00 pm – Le 30 octobre à 19h00 au Century Village de Pembroke Pines.
Our previous musical trip
Going abroad is one of the main goals of our ensemble. Promoting culture is very important for us, both France and around the world.
That’s why every two to three years, we leave our country for a couple weeks to meet other bands in different countries. We’ve already been to :
- The USA in 2001
- Norway in 2006
- Australia in 2008
- Ireland in 2011
- Canada in 2014
